After discovering our love for romance, my friend from journalism school and I created a podcast dedicated to romance books. With my co-host, I help produce and edit high-quality audio content using Reaper. I research, script, and develop compelling monthly discussion topics to maintain audience engagement and relevance. I also help cultivate and manage content for social media platforms, particularly Instagram, to craft informative and captivating posts to enhance podcast visibility and engagement.

Show Production Assistant

In 2022, I joined The Confluence, the public daily news show in Pittsburgh, Pa., as a production assistant. With this team, I regularly researched background information for show segments and guests, edited tape for broadcast using Adobe Audition, helped script interviews for the host, write web rundowns for each show, and helped produce the live-on-air show by regularly running the soundboard.
Two stories that I pitched, did the interview for and produced were about CHATGPT and its influence on academic institutions and Bright Sky, the first multinational app that provides resources for those facing domestic violence across the country.
Our work won us a Golden Quill Award for Excellence in Audio Journalism: Spot Breaking News (Awarded May 2023)

As I was a graduate student in NYU's journalism program living in Pittsburgh, I pitched many story ideas related to the Pittsburgh area. I prepared for my stories by scheduling interviews, creating questions for interviewees, researching information, and fact-checking for anything related to my articles. One of my favorite stories was profiling how COVID-19 impacted a local small business.

In 2020, I joined Beck Media & Marketing, an entertainment firm, as a communications assistant. I would update and compile multiple media contact lists using Muck Rack and Cision, draft press releases, create clip reports, and monitor press coverage for clients such as NBC, Facebook Watch, and Netflix. A highlight was helping run a red carpet event for Nat Geo, where I met Scientist Neil Degrasse Tyson.

Wanting to gain more hands-on experience in video production, I worked as a producer for CommAgency, a student-run creative agency. I helped create media and video projects for Pennsylvania State University-related clients. I collaborated with my team to develop scripts and proposals, scheduled all productions, and assisted with editing video content for clients. I also helped facilitate shoots by conducting foundational research and communicating with key participants to ensure each project ran smoothly.

One of my first internships was with the Pittsburgh Film Office. There, I supported daily office operations and outreach by responding to emails and phone inquiries, designed promotional flyers and newsletters, and helped organize administrative records in databases. I also monitored press coverage of films and television productions shot in Pittsburgh and maintained the office’s local filming-location database, giving me a closer look at how Pittsburgh supports and promotes its growing film and television industry.
